BAGUIO City has released P7,941,000 for 1,202 scholars for the second semester of Academic Year 2021-2022.

The cash assistance was granted under Ordinance 116-2019.

The beneficiaries received P6,000 from the City Social Welfare and Development Office.

The amount will be increased to P10,000 next year.

The release of the P7.9 million came after the approval of the P220,000 additional fund for 37 college scholars who were late submitting requirements.

To qualify for the assistance, students should submit a certificate of income of their parents from the Bureau of Internal Revenue, proof of residency in Baguio and a voter’s certification of the parents or the applicant if the latter is of voting age.

The grant is also open to students enrolled in technical and vocational programs.
