CAGAYAN STATE U STUDENTS PRESS FOR INCLUSIVE SCHOOL UNIFORM POLICY
STUDENTS of the Cagayan State University are lobbying for a measure that seeks to allow students to wear uniforms in accordance with their gender preference.
The CSU Communicator, a student publication from the university, said that the University Student Council Federation requested the measure to help students get comfortable with themselves.
“We believe that students, especially members of the LGBTQIA++ should be wearing school uniform that is comfortable to them,” USCF said.
The federation said that LGBTQIA students should be excused from wearing uniforms until after the board of regents make a decision on the matter.
The federation said that students with diverse Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression are torn between buying uniforms in accordance with their sex or gender preference and wearing the required uniform.
