MMSU TO FILE NECESSARY ACTIONS VS INDIVIDUALS CHANTING ANTI-MARCOS JINGLE

/ 25 July 2022

THE MARIANO Marcos State University will take action against individuals chanting “anti-Marcos” jingle within its premises.

MMSU made the statement after a video posted by “Calix Cole” on Facebook showed four persons singing “Marcos, Marcos, magnanakaw!” went viral.

Although the persons involved in the video have apologized, the school said its legal team is “exhaustively reviewing” the necessary and appropriate course of action against the individuals.

“Should we find that they are liable to a certain extent, we will file the necessary actions against them as provided for by law, regardless of their age, social status, or intention,” MMSU said in a statement.

The four persons were in the campus on the day of the incident to be interviewed as part of the admission process for incoming freshman students.

While it advocates progressive and critical thinking and respects diversity of political, religious and social affiliations and opinions, MMSU said it does not tolerate any behavior that “would potentially disrupt or disturb peace” among its constituents, “especially in a manner that is offensive to others.”

“As an advocate of respect and mutuality, MMSU enjoins all its constituents to embody such values and live in accordance thereto,” it stressed.
