THREE colleges will get elevated status following the signing into law of three bills sponsored by Senator Joel Villanueva.

These institutions are the Bulacan Agricultural State College, Northern Negros State College of Science and Technology and the Iligan City National School of Fisheries.

BASC and NONESCOST are now state universities, while the ICNSF is now the Iligan City Polytechnic State College.

Their conversion were approved under Republic Acts 11783, 11859 and 11856, respectively.

This will give the schools leeway and budget allotment and program offerings once the status has been conferred by the Commission on Higher Education.

Villanueva is the chairperson of the Senate Committee on Higher, Technical and Vocational Education.
