MORE than 8,000 teaching and non-teaching personnel of the Department of Education in Ilocos Region have already received the full doses of Covid19 vaccines.

Dr. Romarie Castillo, medical officer and education support services of DepEd Ilocos, said of the total number of fully vaccinated, 6,792 are teachers while 1,872 are non-teaching personnel.

She added some 12,443 teachers and 2,875 non-teaching personnel have already received their first dose of the Covid19 vaccines.

Castillo noted a total of 23,387 teachers registered for the immunization campaign, but 8,173 instructors who are eligible for vaccination have yet to do so.

For the non-teaching personnel, some 2,594 of them have registered while 1,224 have yet to register.

“The others don’t want to register while some of them were listed, but the local government units did not yet receive their registration since it is not yet the turn of the priority group they belong to,” Castillo said.
