THE COMMISSION on Higher Education said that responding and adapting to the changes brought by the Covid19 are some of the biggest challenges the higher education faces.
“Covid19 is the biggest challenge right now that we are adapting to,” CHED Chairman Prospero de Vera III said.
“I think what Covid19 has exposed is the fact that a lot of the things that we did not do, which we should have done in the past, are the things that hounded us during Covid19,” he added.
De Vera pointed out that many higher education institutions were taken off guard when the pandemic forced school closures.
He said that most HEIs have not invested much in technology-mediated learning.
“We have not improved and expanded distance education as a learning approach and a system and so when Covid19 hit us, we were less prepared than similarly situated universities and countries are,” De Vera added.
