GUIMARAS STATE COLLEGE SUPPORTS CHED ON DISTANCE LEARNING STANCE

/ 2 June 2021

THE GUIMARAS State College aired its support to the stand of Commission on Higher Education Chairman Prospero De Vera on the continuation of distance learning.

GSC said on Monday that it will continue implementing flexible learning, having invested on resources for its implementation.

GSC President Dr. Lillian Diana B. Parreño said that flexible learning is convenient during the pandemic.

“Flexible learning modality proved to be a convenient and easy to use learning platform but still allows teachers and students to interact with each other. It also builds students’ confidence for independent learning,” she pointed out.

“Despite the difficulties we experience in its implementation, we still struggle to reach out to all our students because we cannot afford to compromise their education,” Parreño said.

“Much to our desire to go back to the traditional way of instruction, that is face-to-face, the pandemic is still a force to reckon with. We cannot afford to put the health and safety of our students in jeopardy. Flexible learning is still the way we will do things in the next academic year,” she added.
