UP VISAYAS SETS UP COMMUNITY PANTRY
THE UNIVERSITY of the Philippines-Visayas opened a community pantry for its janitorial staff.
UPV said the beneficiaries were the personnel of Pacific Sun Manpower Solution Agency based in UPV Miagao campus.
“During this pandemic, many underprivileged people can hardly earn enough to sustain their family’s basic needs. We are all aware that these people are among those who need our support,” the school said.
“This prompted the library staff led by University Librarian Analiza G. Linaugo facilitated by Elsa Surmieda, College Librarian, to contribute financially or in kind. Through the efforts and cooperation of everyone, the said activity was materialized,” it added.
The university thanked the members of its community who contributed to the undertaking.
These include UPV Chancellor Dr. Clement Camposano and Vice Chancellor for Planning and Development Dr. Rhodella Ibabao.
