PLM PROMOTES EMPLOYEES
TWO HUNDRED employees of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila were promoted or granted security of tenure.
They took their oath of office before PLM President Emmanuel Leyco. The figure consists of 53 non-academic staff, 139 faculty members, and eight others.
“Binabati namin ang lahat ng mga kawani sa kanilang mga bagong posisyon. Ito ay tanda ng pasasalamat ng Pamantasan sa inyong paglilingkod nang tapat at mahusay sa ating mga mag-aaral at komunidad,” Leyco said.
PLM employees are also set to receive their Service Recognition Incentive for 2020.
Full-time employees will receive up to P10,000, while contract of service and job order workers will get as much as P3,000 each, depending on the length of their service last year.
Leyco also unveiled additional benefits for members of the community, including tablets for students.
Leyco said the university will distribute 2,000 smart tablets for students who have no gadgets or have difficulties keeping up with online learning.
The PLM Board of Regents also agreed to provide internet allowance for faculty members to compensate for the added costs of facilitating virtual classes. The amount is yet to be finalized.
“We deeply value the hard work which our faculty and staff have poured into this ‘new normal’ in education, and this is how PLM shows its gratitude,” Leyco said.
“May you all continue to be passionate about our work and keep on guiding our students towards karunungan, kaunlaran, at kadakilaan,” he added.
