WHICH GAME WON THE GAME OF THE YEAR AWARD AND BEST E-SPORT?
If the Game Awards were held today, did you wager on who would win? With how 2021 started, surely no one expected that these titles would win on The Game Awards 2021.
When it comes to video games, it’s not all about making money. Developers put a lot of effort into creating a character, go through different stages of storyboarding, and drink tons of cups of coffee just to achieve what you call ‘AAA’ or Triple A-game. That is why, each year, the Game Awards select various titles to honor game developers who showed their A-game in the field.
This year Game of the Year award goes to ‘It Takes Two’, a romantic comedy co-op-only game that made quite a huge buzz in the gaming community. It has been 2 consecutive years that single-player adventure games won the GOTY award, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice in 2019, and The Last of Us Part II in 2020. The surprise in the gaming community is somehow an understatement.
‘It Takes Two’ follows Cody and May, a husband and wife on the verge of divorce. When their young daughter overhears their latest squabble, she flees to the family’s shed with two miniature dolls that look suspiciously like her own parents.
A few of her tears fall on the dolls while she’s playing with them. Her parents awaken to find themselves trapped within these miniature playthings, in a mystical twist. Cody and May will have to learn to work together in order to return to their human forms.
The game runs on PC, PS4, XBox One, PS5, Xbox Series S/X and can be purchased from official websites such as Playstation, XBox, Origin, and Steam. You can purchase the game at Steam for a discounted price of P1,115.30 (Until promo lasts) or at P1,799 (Regular price).

There is no question that 2021 was a difficult year for Esports and game developers in general. The rapid spread of the Covid-19 virus makes it difficult to hold events and tournaments. With no technical or single production issue faced, ‘League of Legends’ proved worthy of the titles Best Esport Event and Best Esports of the year. Expected from an indie-turned-powerhouse company, Riot Games.
We’ve got a whole lotta Esports wins here! Congratulations to @s1mpleO, @CSGO, kk0ma of @DWGKIA, and @lolesports 🎉 #TheGameAwards! pic.twitter.com/23RJGjRrML
