EAC DROPS HEARTBREAKER TO LPU TO END LOSING SPELL

Emilio Aguinaldo College (EAC) ended a two-game losing streak with a thrilling 70-69 victory over Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU) in the NCAA men’s basketball tournament Season 97 on Saturday at the La Salle Greenhills gym.

Trailing 66-55, the Generals was leading in the fourth with three-pointer baskets from Marwin Taywan and Art Cosa.

The momentum shifted to LPU as Enoch Valdez drilled six points in an 11-0 Lyceum run to cut the 12-point deficit, 70-58, to 

Lyceum had a chance to win with only 1.6 ticks left, but Mclaude Guadana missed a potential game-winner to hand over the victory to EAC.

Taywan took the charge for the Generals with 14 points, eight assists, three steals, and two rebounds, while JP Maguliano ended with a double-double with 13 markers and 11 boards, to go along with two steals.

JM Bravo led the Pirates with 12 points, five rebounds, and four steals, while Renzo Navarro added nine markers.

With their win, EAC barged in the win column at 1-2, while LPU dropped to 0-3.
