CVSU WINS KATA COMPETITION

The Cavite State University karate athletes won four medals, including one gold, two silver, and one bronze during the 1st National University Virtual Kata Championship 2021.

The event was sponsored by the Federation of Schools Sports Association of the Philippines Karate Club in collaboration with Batangas State University.

Itchi Ann Denniece Aquino won gold in the Women’s Category B. John Ralph Cauilan and Julia Christine Tadeo won silver in the Men Category B and Women Category B, respectively.

Meanwhile, Arthur James Bacosa won bronze in the Men Category A.

Their coaches were Justine Tristeza of the College of Criminal Justice and Renato Tanglao of the College of Sports, Physical Education, and Recreation.

The competition was undertaken to decide the final members of the Philippine Karate Delegation for the 20th ASEAN University Games, which will be held from July 26 to August 6 in Ubon Ratchathani, Thailand, CvSU Sports Director Ana Liza Mojica said.
