NORTHPORT ADDS MORE WEAPONS, SECURES TOP ROOKIE PICKS JAMIE MALONZO, TROY RIKE
NorthPort Batang Pier officially added two more gunners to the team after officially signing a deal with its top rookie picks yesterday—Jamie Malonzo, Troy Rike.
Malanzo is the second overall pick in the season 46 PBA Rookie Draft, who signed under a 3-year contract while Rike, the 11th overall pick, penned a 2-year contract.
Athletic big Malanzo is expected to man the team with his experience in the UAAP under the flagship of Green Archers as well as to Mighty Sports in the 2020 Dubai Invitationals.
“I can say that I have prepared myself well and just be an impact on my team early. Just excited about what I can bring,” said Malonzo after placing second overall pick.
On the other hand, the 6-foot-8 Rike played in the FIBA 3×3 circuit and is currently ranked the no. 5 in which could be a great advantage for the roster of Batang Pier.
While NorthPort governor Erick Arejola told The STAR that the team is very excited to have the two cagers in the team can’t wait to see them take the floor.
“We’re sure they’ll have an impact in the team right away once the season starts,” he propounded.
With new cadets, NorthPort is looking forward to a victory cup in Season 46 with Greg Slaughter’s trade-off in the team.
