Netizens eye Louie Alas as UST head coach

After three years of manning the bench for the Phoenix Fuel Masters, netizens are now rooting for Louie Alas to fill in the gap left by former head coach Aldin Ayo.

Now that Growling Tigers is on the hunt for a new mentor, many are eying Alas to replace the multi-awarded coach.

The 56-year-old mentor shared with a The Chasedown, that he have received multiple messages asking him to lead the España-based squad.

According to him, college basketball is something he holds dear as the collegiate scene was the stage where he was able to establish himself—the arena to find what he calls “genuine basketball”.

He was also the head coach for Las Piñas College and the Saint Francis of Assisi’s high school team bannered by PBA Hall of Famers Yancy and Ranidel De Ocampo where they claimed multiple National Capital Region Athletic Association titles.

Despite numerous calls for him to lead UST, Alas said that the future remains uncertain as he first wants to settle his issue with the Fuel Masters.
