NBL CONCLUDES A SUCCESSFUL BUBBLE; RECORDS ZERO VIRUS CASES AS PAMPANGA DELTA, LA UNION PAOWER TEST NEGATIVE
The National Basketball League (NBL) winded up its bubble with all players, coaches, and league staff yielding a negative result in its final COVID-19 tests on Saturday.
“The NBL has achieved its ultimate goal of a safe and sound bubble,” said the league in a statement posted on its Facebook page.
Delegates from the Season 3 champion Pampanga Delta, La Union PAOwer, and staff are tested inside the Bren Z. Guiao Sports Complex prior to their exodus in the bubble.
This was the fourth testing done by the league during the bubble in which the final game was played. the other three antigen tests and one RT-PCR test were done in the span of the duration of the series with all bending with a negative result.
The testing was done in synchronization with a medical team led by Dr. Johan Uichico and the Games and Amusements Board (GAB)
The Pampanga Dellta ruled over the NBL Season 3 Black Arrow Express-President’s Cup championship series after beating the La Union PAOwer in Game 4, 76-68, last October 28.
Levi Hernandez was crowned as the Finals MVP for boarding 24 points to help Pampanga claim the championship in the best-of-five finals series, 3-1.
The roster was able to get the title not only because of Hernandez but also because of the unified teamwork of the squad together with Allen Enriquez, Al Llangco, Clifton Gania, Dexter Maiquez, Jerick Fabian, Mark Tamayo, Michael Juico, Primo Manaloto, Raymond Binuya, Ronan Santos, and Wilson Baltazar.
While the great players behind the battle of the champion against La Union were the joint forces of Adrian Caasi, Ervin Silverie, Fimorico Francisco, Jayson Apolonio, JP Pascua, Jonathan Ablao, Jonathan Grayochea, Marchie Blaza, Mitchelle Maynes, Roman Gatchallan, Romel Doliente, and Scottie Fontanilla, raising the flag for La Union.
