Eala bagged the first win in the preliminary rounds by a sweep of 6-0, 6-1 against Latvia’s Anna Ozerova.

Followed by the daunting victory over Gettward by a 6-2, 6-0 domination and fastened her spot in the main draw.

Today, Eala will be facing the 17-year-old French Jenny Lim in the first round of the main field.

The 16-year-old Eala who is currently sitting in 583rd in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) rankings hoped for a victory match turnout against Lim who was ranked 1,591st in the WTA.

“Won both my qualifying matches. Wish me luck with my first round tomorrow,” Alex Eala posted on her Facebook account.

And despite her busy schedule, Eala also shared that she was able to bond with French kids saying, “today, I was also able to speak to some French kids from the club about tennis.”
