On the 11th day of June 2021, most Filipinos looked forward to the global release of “Trese”, an anime-influence series based on the Filipino komik series of Budjette Tan and Kajo Baldisimo.

The said series became available on Netflix consisting six episodes that lasted for 25 to 30 minutes each. With every episode, the audience became eager to continue watching due to the unpredictable plot of the story and the exceptional animation that brought the Filipino myth back into life through the presence of various Filipino mythical creatures. Furthermore, it also became a step towards giving more recognition to the talent and work of our voice-over actors.

Trese also became popular because of the personalities that each character was able to portray. The audience were especially fascinated by the courage of Alexandra Trese, the unbreakable bond between Basilio and Crispin and the silly role of Nuno.

”Wag mo lamang tignan ang panlabas na anyo. Malawak na pananaw ang tanging susi sa mapayapang buhay.” (You need to see beyond the outside. All of us must see beyond to live in balance.”) This is one of the most famous lines said by Miranda Trese, which made most of the viewers reflect all throughout the series.

Overall, the series was something that the audience did not expect. It was put into life in such a remarkable way and was also promoted outstandingly. Through this, the Filipino myth has been exhibited for the rest of the world to witness.
