PWDs TRAINED ON DIGITAL LITERACY
THE DEPARTMENT of Information and Communications Technology held a digital literacy training for Persons With Disabilities.
DICT provincial officer Johanna Tulauan said that 18 individuals attended the three-day event.
The participants were from the towns of Alfonso Castaneda, Kasibu, Solano, Villaverde, Quezon, Bayombong, Bambang and Diadi in Nueva Vizcaya.
The program seeks to empower marginalized groups in various sectors in urban and rural areas by improving their ICT capabilities and by encouraging increased use of the internet and technologies in their day-to-day activities.
“This was part of our mandate to carry out Specialized ICT Training Program targeting the special needs of various sectors in the country,” Tulauan said.
The training aimed to give participants introductory knowledge on ICT-related topics that will help them learn and give them opportunities for employment and entrepreneurship.
