MARAWI INAUGURATES NEW SCHOOL BUILDING
THE DEPARTMENT of Education joined Task Force Bangon Marawi in the inauguration of a school building at the Marawi Integrated School.
The building will accommodate learners displaced by the siege.
TFBM representatives from DepEd, the Department of Public Works and Highways, and the Office of the Civil Defense unveiled a 1-unit, 4-story, 20-classroom school building located at the Most Affected Area, Marawi City, Lanao del Sur.
Nine more school buildings are being built in the integrated school. This is part of the government’s rehabilitation program in the City.
“Through the continuous leadership and commitment of the concerned government agencies, these school building projects will be accomplished within the agreed timeline and will soon accommodate our displaced learners,” Education Undersecretary for Administration Alain Del Pascua said during the inauguration ceremony.
“Nagpapasalamat po tayo sa lahat na nagkaisa tayo, na nagkaroon tayo ng bayanihan para maitayo nating muli itong isang integrated school sa Marawi,” he added.
TFBM Chairman Eduardo Del Rosario noted that rebuilding schools and educational facilities are a priority in the government’s rehabilitation program.
“One of the priorities in rehabilitation is rebuilding the educational system, and this infrastructure will show the whole country that we are focusing on the right direction in ensuring that education is given the topmost priority,” Del Rosario said.
