/ 20 December 2021

THE KILLING of two siblings in M’lang, North Cotabato last December 10 has been solved after a family member admitted to the killing, a police report said.

Crizzle Gwynn Maguad, 18, and her 16-year-old brother Crizzule Luois were beaten with a baseball bat and stabbed repeatedly with a knife inside their home in Barangay Bagontapay.

Major Realan Mamon, town police chief, said an adopted member of the Maguad family confessed to the crime.

The suspect is now under the custody of the Department of Social Welfare and Development, according to Mamon.

Investigators said “sibling rivalry” could be the motive for the attack. It added that a manhunt is ongoing for another suspect.

“We share with the grief of the parents of the slain minors. With these developments, we are certain they can secure justice for their two children,” North Cotabato Vice Governor Emmylou Taliño-Mendoza said.

Local officials previously offered a reward of P500,000 for information leading to the arrest of the killers.
