DICT PROVIDES FREE WIFI TO ONE CAINTA COLLEGE, ONE ARENA
THE LOCAL government of Cainta, Rizal expressed its gratitude to the Department of Information and Communications Technology for providing free wifi to One Cainta College and One Arena.
“Cainta is future-proofing not only our services but also access to learning and education. With our free satellite wifi access in One Cainta College and at One Arena, we aim to bridge the digital divide especially in education, both formal and informal, and encourage easy access to information and data,” Cainta Mayor Elen Nieto said.
“Free wifi is powered by Starlink. We extend our thanks to DICT for the OneArena free wifi,” the mayor added.
Meanwhile, the local government has also provided free livelihood training to Alternative Learning System students.
“Ang mga students natin sa Alternative Learning System ay binigyan natin ng pangkabuhayan livelihood training, with our home-based products training courtesy ng One Cainta Community Training Program,” Nieto said.
“Natuto sila gumawa ng dishwashing liquid, detergent at fabric conditioner. Plus, may start-up kit na rin sila para makapagsimula na sa bahay ng maliit na negosyo,” she added.
Just recently, the local government also announced that it partnered with Hyundai Motor Philippines for the scholarship of students who want to take up a vocational course on automotive at Don Bosco Makati.
“The Hyundai Accelerate Program will offer a one-year scholarship on Automotive Technology (a vocational program) to 10 of our students. The one-year scholarship is at Don Bosco Makati, and if all goes well for our scholars, they will be on their way to a better career opportunity at Hyundai Philippines,” Nieto said.
