DEPED EXEC TO PARENTS: ENROLL YOUR CHILDREN
AN OFFICIAL of the Department of Education in Ilocos region urged parents to enroll their children this school year.
“We hope we could surpass last school year’s enrollment as there had been [a] decrease in the enrollment in Kindergarten, Grade 1, and Senior High School, although the enrollment is still ongoing,” DepEd Ilocos Region Project Development Officer Darius Nieto said.
As of August 23, there were only 349,962 enrollees in kindergarten to senior high school, lower than the 1.3 million recorded in the same period last year.
This was broken down to 52,742 enrollees in kindergarten, 133,347 in elementary, 93,963 in junior high school and 69,910 in senior high school.
“We are pleading with the parents to please enroll their children,” Nieto said.
The DepEd will continue to implement modular and blended learning for School Year 2021-2022.
