THE DEPARTMENT of Information and Communications Technology installed seven computer sets in Agusan del Sur Provincial Library–Digital Hub in Patin-ay, Prosperidad.

The Digital Hub aims to provide access to ICT resources and opportunities, training on ICT skills and facility for digital workers.

DICT Secretary Gregorio Honasan said internet access is essential in having a quality education.

“Internet access, gadgets, and other digital resources are now the essentials in securing quality education. With this, your DICT aims to ensure equitable access to digital resources necessary for the delivery of online and blended learning systems,” he said.

Regional Director Sittie Alawi said the agreement was to help ICT be promoted in their communities.

“This undertaking is a by-product of the joint DigitalJobsPH Program of DICT and the Provincial Government of Agusan Del Sur for the free use of DICT’s platform, solutions, technology, and brand of Tech4ed Project,” she added.

The project was pursuant to the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement  between the Department of Information and Communications Technology Mindanao Cluster II and the Provincial Government of Agusan del Sur.
