VICE PRESIDENT and Education Secretary Sara Duterte led the moving up ceremony of those incarcerated at the Manila City Jail.

The ceremony produced 54 elementary and 166 Junior High School graduates who completed their education through the Department of Education’s Alternative Learning System.

Duterte congratulated the inmates for their feat.

“Patunay ito na nakita nila ang kahalagahan ng edukasyon sa kanilang pagnanais na magbagong buhay,” the Vice President said.

Duterte also encouraged them to keep their hope alive.

She thanked them for their invitation to join them on such an important occasion.

“Pinasalamatan ko rin ang mga opisyal ng Manila City Jail na nagsulong ng matagumpay na programang Bantay Nyo, Guro Nyo — kasama ang DepEd Manila Schools Division Office,” she added.
