VALENZUELA TEACHER WRITES SONG FOR CONTINUED EDUCATION AMID THE PANDEMIC

/ 6 December 2020

INSPIRED by his profession as teacher of Mapulang Lupa National High School in Valenzuela City, Oliver Narag wrote a song about unity and volunteerism amid the Covid19 pandemic.

Narag noted the dedication of the Department of Education, schools, and local government units to continue education in the country despite the threat of the virus.

Also a composer, Narag collaborated with friends Genesis Joy Pira, a teacher of Gen T. De Leon National High School, and Donald Samson, a former teacher and now a professional singer, in recording the song “Anuman ang Sitwasyon, Tuloy ang Edukasyon.”

The song became viral on both Facebook and YouTube, paving the way to make it the official song of the Schools Division Office-Valenzuela in its simulation and promotional video in the implementation of the Learning Continuity Plan.

Included in the lyrics of the song are letters which reflect the dedication of the teachers, and teamwork to fulfill the mission for the youth.
