VALENZUELA CITY DISTRIBUTES SCHOOL KITS TO 80K LEARNERS
TO ASSIST learners during the pandemic, the city government of Valenzuela will distribute school kits to some 80,000 public school students.
This initiative is one of the multiple projects of the city’s “Education 360 Degrees Investment Program” led by Valenzuela Mayor Rexlon ‘Rex’ Gatchalian.
Under the program, the city government provides each student a backpack containing workbooks, notebooks, and other school supplies such as pencil case with ballpens, pencils, sharpeners and erasers, a water bottle, and a lunch box.
Students will also receive a learning packet from the Department of Education in Valenzuela.
Students of Valenzuela Special Education Learning Center will also get school kits and some books they requested from the city.
Gatchalian said the city government will likewise address concerns on the students’ mental well-being through the “Nanay-Teacher Program.”
“Through the program, the city aims to draw up plans and activities to help both children and parents deal with impatience, anxiety, and stress brought about by the extended lockdown and ever-changing community quarantine status,” the mayor said.
