TESDA GETS HIGHEST APPROVAL, TRUST RATINGS ANEW
FOR the second consecutive quarter, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority got the highest approval and trust ratings among government agencies in a recent survey conducted by PUBLiCUS Asia.
According to the 2023 PAHAYAG First Quarter Survey, TESDA got an approval rating of 73 percent, higher than its previous 72 percent in the last quarter of 2022.
TESDA was followed by the Armed Forces of the Philippines with 69 percent, and the Department of Tourism with 68 percent approval ratings.
The agency and the AFP also got the highest trust ratings – 60 percent. They were followed by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas with 55 percent.
TESDA Director General Danilo Cruz thanked Filipinos for their continued support and TESDA personnel for their efforts in providing quality and relevant tech-voc training to Filipinos.
Cruz attributed the agency’s stellar performance to its improved programs and policies such as continuing establishment of more innovation centers, increasing TVET output, consistently high employment rate of TVET graduates, and the forging of more partnerships with TVET stakeholders, among others.
“It is an honor to be, once again, the most trusted and approved government agency. It gives us more reason to continue serving and reaching out to our kababayans as we pursue an area-based and demand-driven TVET,” he said.
There are four TESDA innovation centers —one each in Cebu, Northern Samar, Zamboanga Sibugay, and Isabela which are ready to provide skills training responsive to the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
The agency aims to train 1.8 million Filipinos in 2023.
