SENATOR READY TO WORK WITH SARA
SENATOR Sherwin Gatchalian on Monday said he will support and work with Vice President-elect and incoming Education chief Sara Duterte-Carpio to address the crisis hounding the education sector.
For Gatchalian, the DepEd’s immediate priority should be the recovery of the basic education sector from the Covid19 pandemic’s impact.
To jumpstart the recovery, the chairman of the Senate Committee on Basic Education, Arts and Culture pushed for the full reopening of all schools, child development centers and Alternative Learning System community learning centers by August.
The lawmaker also highlighted the need to improve the performance of the country’s learners.
Gatchalian also stressed the need to implement learning recovery programs focused on reading and numeracy to address learning loss.
