SENATOR Francis Escudero is not in favor of having a West Philippine Sea subject in college.

Escudero said that the topic can be added to the Political Science subject instead.

“Piliin naman natin ang subject, para sa akin mas matimbang ang Good Moral and Right Conduct,” he added.

There were proposals to include in the Higher Education currirulum the teaching of information on West Philippine Sea, including the arbitral ruling recognizing the sovereign rights of the country.

At the same time, Escudero called on concerned officials to assess the curriculum.

“Ako as chairman of Senate Committee on Higher, Technical and Vocational Education, hindi ako sang-ayon na ibatas ang curriculum. Nagbabago kasi ang curriculum, nagbabago ang teknolohiya kung isasabatas mas mahihirapan tayong baguhin,” he said.
