2026 Bar Chairperson Associate Justice Samuel Gaerlan said Sunday that the Supreme Court is eyeing the release of this year’s Bar Examination results in January 2027.

Gaerlan said he wants the examinees to enjoy the holiday season first before the results are released.

“Everybody must have to enjoy the holiday. So I’m referring to Christmas holiday. So we will release the results after the holiday season. So it will be in January,” Gaerlan said in a press conference.

More than 11,900 examinees took the first day of the Bar Examination, higher than the 11,437 candidates who took the first-day exam last year.

“I think we have the highest number of applicants and examinees as compared to the previous years,” the Bar chairperson said.

“They are inspired to take the Bar Exam, and maybe they were thinking that I am reasonable and fair, so they did not postpone taking the Bar Exam,” he added.
