POLICE TAGS 16-YEAR-OLD IN TAGUIG BOMB THREAT
A 16-year-old student has been tagged by the police in the bomb threat incident in Taguig City on November 7, which triggered panic and cancelled classes.
The girl posted her threats using a Facebook account.
“Papatayin ko lahat ng mga estudyante sa Signal, humanda kayong lahat,” she wrote.
Lieutenant Colonel Jay Guillermo of the Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group said that they traced the identity of the girl by locating the internet protocol address, exact location and mobile number where the comments have been typed.
Guillermo said that the girl, a Grade 9 student of the Signal Village National High School, is facing charges of grave threats, bomb scare threats and acts of terrorism along with her accomplices.
Police determined that the suspect was not the only one who accessed the phone prior to the incident.
They were able to search the residence of the student, along with the belongings of her housemates through a warrant from the Regional Trial Court.
Some netizens called for the education of children about laws to prevent incidents like bomb threats from minors.
