PHILIPPINE National Police chief Guillermo Eleazar on Sunday directed unit commanders to coordinate with local officials in securing the vaccination sites for minors.

Eleazar said police officers should ensure that health and safety protocols are observed.

“I have tasked police chiefs and unit commanders to maintain close coordination with LGU officials so that they will know what assistance police personnel can provide,” the PNP chief said in a statement.

“I am also urging police offices to help in educating and encouraging the parents to have their children vaccinated and protected from Covid19,” he added.

The vaccination of minors started in Metro Manila on October 15.

The government tapped 23 hospitals for the inoculation of minors aged 12 to 17.
