PBBM VISITS BATAAN SCHOOL, LEADS ROLLOUT OF MODULAR CLASSROOMS AND STUDENT SUPPORT PROGRAMS

/ 20 March 2026

PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. visited newly installed prefabricated classrooms in Mariveles, Bataan, highlighting the government’s efforts to address classroom shortages through faster and more innovative solutions.

During his visit to Mariveles National High School–Alasasin Annex, the President inspected the modular classrooms, which form part of the Department of Education’s initiative to accelerate the delivery of learning spaces. According to the Presidential Communications Office, the use of modular technology significantly reduces construction time compared to traditional building methods.

Education Secretary Sonny Angara said the project serves as a practical interim solution while permanent school facilities are being constructed.

The newly installed classrooms are expected to accommodate 1,031 learners at the school, which is currently facing a projected shortage of at least five classrooms due to increasing enrollment.

In addition to infrastructure support, the President also led the distribution of digital learning devices and launched the “Yakap at Kalinga Caravan,” which provides free medical consultations, laboratory services, medicines, and vision screening for both students and school personnel.

The initiative forms part of the government’s broader efforts to strengthen the education sector by addressing both learning conditions and the overall well-being of teachers and learners.
