PRESIDENT Ferdinand  Marcos Jr. has ordered the implementation of the 2026 National Oplan Balik Eskwela to ensure a safe, orderly, and well-prepared opening of classes this year.

Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said the Department of Education has formally launched the inter-agency Oplan Balik Eskwela initiative in preparation for the nationwide school opening on June 8.

Castro said various government agencies and critical utility partners are working closely with the Department of Education to strengthen logistics support and ensure the safety and security of schools.

She noted that the Department of the Interior and Local Government, Philippine National Police, Department of Health, and the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority will lead efforts on security coordination, community health measures, and traffic management.

Meanwhile, the Department of Energy is expected to ensure stable electricity supply, while the Department of Trade and Industry will intensify consumer protection measures, Castro added.

“These measures reflect the President’s strong commitment to the welfare and safety of Filipino learners,” Castro said.
