PASIG VILLAGE ADDS 30 COLLEGE SCHOLARS

/ 15 October 2021

BARANGAY San Antonio in Pasig City added 30 more to its college scholarship program, bringing the total number of scholars to 110 as of October this year.

Last year, the barangay only had 87 scholars.

Barangay Chairman Raymond Lising recently signed a memorandum of agreement with the new scholars of the barangay.

Barangay San Antonio provides each of its scholar P50,000 maximum per year and P1,500 monthly allowance.

“Even if there is still a pandemic, education is very important. This is why we added more scholars to help their parents during these very trying times,” Lising said.

The chairman said they gave priority to indigent students who badly need assistance to pursue their studies amid the pandemic.

“In our scholarship program, we are prioritizing our indigent students or those who came from families with no stable income during this pandemic,” he said.

“This pandemic has devastated our economy and the parents of our scholars, and our scholars themselves, are affected by this. This is why, we in the barangay, added more scholars in our scholarship program,” the village chief added.
