THE NATIONAL Youth Commission has started accepting applications for the 2021 ASEAN Virtual Young Scientists Conference.

The commission will nominate five delegates to the event to be held from December 8 to 9, 2021.

It will be hosted by the National Committee on Youth of Vietnam.

The conference is open to Filipinos aged 18 to 40 who are Master’s Degree holders, engaged in scientific research in the fields of basic science; applied science; engineering/infrastructure; information and communication technology platforms and digital technology; social sciences; arts and humanities; and medicine and healthcare.

Applicants should submit a brief presentation of their scientific research or activities in their field.

They must be willing to be a NYC volunteer and participate in the program online.

With the theme “Smart Cities for a Sustainable ASEAN Community,” AVYSC is projected to bring together about 160 young scientists across Southeast Asia to share practical knowledge, learn relevant skills, build regional networks, and address the current challenges of the region.

The filing of applications will be until November 11, 2021.
