THE MANILA City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Department (MCDRRMD) conducted active-attack school safety drills in four public schools to strengthen emergency preparedness and enhance response protocols for potential violence-related incidents on campus.

The drills were held at Victorino Mapa High School, Jose Corazon de Jesus Elementary School, Dr. Alejandro Albert Elementary School, and Felipe G. Calderon High School in coordination with the Manila Police District (MPD) and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).

During the simulations, teachers, school personnel, and students were trained in proper safety procedures, evacuation protocols, and coordinated response measures aimed at protecting lives during an active-attack scenario.

The MCDRRMD also deployed emergency response teams to ensure the safety of participants and provide immediate medical assistance throughout the exercises, as part of the city’s comprehensive disaster and emergency preparedness program.

City officials said the initiative seeks to foster a culture of preparedness in schools and strengthen the ability of students and educators to respond effectively during critical emergencies.
