MALABON CITY GOVERNMENT TO JOIN BRIGADA ESKWELA
MALABON City Mayor Jeannie Sandoval is set to lead the launch of the Brigada Eskwela on Monday (22 July 2024), in preparation for the Malabueños’ return to school.
The program will start with a parade to be held from Malabon National High School going to Potrero Elementary School where members of the Malabon City Police Station, Bureau of Fire Protection, city hall employees, and other local government agencies and organizations will join.
“Malapit na naman po ang pasukan at titiyakin nating magiging maayos ang ating in mga paaralan upang mas ganahan ang ating mga kabataan na pumasok, mag-aral, at matuto. Aking pinapaalalahanan ang ating mga mag-aaral na ipagpatuloy ang pagpupursige dahil ang edukasyon ay mahalaga para sa inyong kinabukasan. Ito ang tutulong at huhubog sa inyong mga kakayahan upang mas maging handa kayo sa isang masaganang pamumuhay sa hinaharap,” Sandoval said.
Brigada-Eskwela is a nationwide program aimed at properly maintaining and preparing classrooms and other school facilities for the upcoming school year.
For School Year 2024-2025, there are around 55,608 enrollees in city public schools which include 39,271 elementary students, 14,758 junior high school students, and 1,579 senior high school students.
There are also 15,185 students enrolled in Malabon private schools which include 2,270 students in the Elementary level, 3,277 high school students, and 9,638 Senior high school.
The city government announced that the MATATAG Curriculum will be implemented in Kindergarten, Grades 1,4 & 7 only for School Year 2024 – 2025.
The curriculum focuses on the development of foundational skills such as literacy, numeracy, and socio-emotional skills among younger learners aiming to build their character and produce competent, job-ready, active, good, and responsible citizens.
