LAWMAKER WANTS MUTUAL FUND FOR TEACHERS
CAMARINES Sur 3rd District Rep. Gabriel Bordado Jr. filed a measure that will establish a mutual fund for teachers.
Bordado said that House Bill 5118 or the proposed Education Mutual Fund Act of 2022 will help provide financial security for teachers.
Bordado said giving teachers competitive salaries is one way of ensuring that their profession will attract brilliant minds.
“In the goal of prioritizing quality education in the country, it is equally as important to provide our teachers and educators with enough benefits and compensations,” he said in his explanatory note.
Most teachers, Bordado added, might not be in the position to avail of other means of income such as mutual funds and investments, thus, the government should help ensure their financial security.
