SENATOR Richard Gordon on Sunday urged the government to ensure better education for all Filipinos, especially the youth.

In his Independence Day message, Gordon said providing better education is one way of maintaining the freedom that our heroes fought for.

“As we sojourn to a crossroads in history, let us never forget the sacrifices our forefathers have made for the future generations to experience true freedom,” he said.

Gordon expressed hope that the incoming administration will provide a clean, honest and effective governance as well as equal opportunity for all.

“Let us remain free from the chains of oppression, of illegal foreign incursion, poverty, and disinformation. We hope that we are already on the track towards freedom from the pandemic as well,” he  said.

Meanwhile, Senator Aquilino ‘Koko’ Pimentel III called on the nation to aspire to be free from poverty, injustice, abuse, inequality and lawlessness.

“May we, in solidarity, all work for these so that we may achieve these within our children’s lifetime,” Pimentel said.
