HOUSE APPROVES BILL CREATING TESDA-POLOMOLOK DISTRICT
THE House of Representatives has approved on third and final reading a measure creating a Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) District Office in the first legislative district of Polomolok, South Cotabato.
The lawmakers have already transmitted the measure to the Senate, House Bill 9636 which was introduced by Representatives Isidro Lumayag, Mark Go, and Elizaldy Co.
Based on the measure, the TESDA District Office shall be located in a highly accessible area in the Municipality of Polomolok, South Cotabato.
The TESDA-Polomolok District Office shall serve the Municipalities of Polomolok, Tampakan, and Tupi, all located in the First Legislative District of the Province of South Cotabato.
The proposed bill mandates the TESDA to determine the organizational structure and staffing pattern for the TESDA-Polomolok District Office and submit to the Department of Budget and Management for approval.
The measure also mandates the Secretary General of TESDA to include the operationalization of the TESDA-Polomolok District Office in the program of TESDA, the initial funding of which shall be charged the current year’s appropriation of the existing TESDA South Cotabato Provincial Office.
