Under House Resolution 2416, the Commission on Higher Education will ensure that there are streamlined return service structures, progressive rules and regulations for the implementation of scholarship programs.
The agency will also see to it that there is a conducive environment for research so that the country will benefit directly from the investments.
CHED will also undertake a government-led funding strategy for a foreign scholarship and training program for Filipino students and professionals as an economic investment aimed at producing globally competitive experts.
Funding for the scholarship and training programs will come from the General Appropriations or donations from private entities, groups or individuals.
Lawmakers said that with a coherent international education strategy, Filipino scholars will not only gain technical skills abroad but will imbibe the different values and world view of foreign institutions, which will contribute to the deepening of the country’s relationship with other countries.
