GOV’T TROOPS HOST 3-DAY YOUTH LEADERSHIP SUMMIT
THE 29th Infantry “Matatag” Battalion and the city government of Cabadbaran in Agusan del Norte hosted a three-day event that aimed to nurture the leadership skills of the youth.
The event was held from October 7 to October 9 at the Barangay Del Pilar Gymnasium in the city.
The event aimed to teach the youth resilience, responsibility, entrepreneurial skills and other tools to become influential leaders in their communities.
The youth were also encouraged not to join terrorist rebels.
In a statement, Agusan del Norte Governor Maria Angelica Rosedell Amante-Matba told the youth to resist communist recruitment despite the hardships they are experiencing.
“No matter how difficult the world is today, we should not abandon our government, and you should improve each of your lives,” she said.
Present during the closing ceremony were Lt. Colonel Cresencio Gargar, commanding officer of 29IB, Crestin Joy Bermudez-Delos Reyes, representative of Cabadbaran Mayor Judy Chin-Amante, Barangay Del Pilar Captain Acrecia Camarin and Brigadier General George Banzon, commander of 901st Brigade.
