A SCHOOL in Canada will offer Filipino language and culture course.

Students at Sir Charles Tupper Secondary School in Vancouver who are in Grades 10 to 12 will take the course.

The city’s education board unanimously voted in favor of the program.

The Vancouver School Board said that the course will expose children to the Filipino language at a “basic level” while also examining Philippine history, traditions, and culture.

Nearly 175,000 of the 950,000 Filipinos who reside in Canada are in the western province of British Columbia. One of the well-known personalities there is television journalist Rhea Santos.
