INDONESIA REVEALS 2021 FIBA ASIA CUP LOGO; GAMES TO TAKE PLACE IN AUGUST 2021

Indonesia has unveiled the official logo of the FIBA Asia Cup 2021 during a joint press conference at the stadion GBK Senayan in Jakarta, Indonesia.

“It will mark the return of Asian basketball back to Indonesia. Fiba Asia Cup is a stage for Indonesia to show the highly promising potential of Indonesian basketball,” Indonesia Basketball Association (PERBASI) president Danny Kosasih shared.

And Zainudin Amali, Indonesia’s Minister of Sports and Youth, further expressed, “I strongly believe the Fiba Asia Cup 2021 logo will inspire all young generation basketball fans in Indonesia and across Asia to support this extraordinary event.”

On the other hand, FIBA Asia Board held its fourth meeting to have updates on FIBA Asia, which is said to happen August 12-14, 2021.

The continent tiff will have a 16 teams list and an additional of four teams by way of the Qualifying Tournament for third-ranked teams of the six Groups.

This will be the second time for Indonesia to host the FIBA Asia Cup since its first hosting back in 1993.

FIBA Women Asia Cup 2021 will be hosted by India and FIBA U16 Women and Men championships to be anchored by Lebanon and Iran, respectively.

“Please let us all remind ourselves that every adversity that comes in front of us is an opportunity to raise ourselves to do better than our best,” said FIBA Executive Director Asia Mr. Hagop Khajirian.
