FEU PROF APPOINTED AS OIC DIRECTOR GENERAL OF KWF
DR. BENJAMIN Mendillo of Far Eastern University was appointed as the officer in charge Director General of the Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino.
Mendillo, the former chairman of FEU’s Institute of Education, will also be the new commissioner representing the Ilokano language in KWF.
“The Institute of Education congratulates Dr. Mendillo on his appointment. Dr. Mendillo is an esteemed faculty of the Institute. His appointment is a testament that the IE roster of faculty is of national caliber,” IE Dean Harold Culala said.
Before his appointment, Mendillo was the Director of Graduate Studies of FEU.
He also worked as a translation practitioner and did translation work locally and abroad.
Some of his works are “Save your Kidney Book” which was commissioned by the Philippine Association of Nephrologist and endorsed by the American Society of Nephrology; and the translation of Filipino strands of “Waze,” a GPS navigation software app.
He also served as Chief Translator at the Office of the President in Malacañang where he instituted The Translation Certificate Program for prospective translators.
Mendillo completed his doctorate degree in Translation with a full scholarship at the De La Salle University.
