THE DEPARTMENT of Education warned the public against persons soliciting donations allegedly for Covid19 patients.

In an advisory, the DepEd said it received reports that some individuals were asking for monetary donations using the name of some of the department’s regional officials.

However, DepEd clarified that it only authorized the solicitation on a voluntary basis for Covid19 victims who were from the Schools Division Office of Zambales.

DepEd added that these donations must be deposited in the bank account of the treasurer of the Zambales Public School Teachers’ Association.

The DepEd asked the public to report any unauthorized solicitation activities.

In March, more than 40 DepEd employees in Zambales were reported to have been infected with Covid19 after attending face-to-face seminars.
