DEPED RECOGNIZES OUTSTANDING TEACHER-BROADCASTERS

/ 10 July 2021

THE DEPARTMENT of Education will launch the first DepEd TV Awards to recognize the outstanding performance of teacher-broadcasters and their production teams in the delivery of distance learning.

“We are always thankful to our teacher-broadcasters and production crews who have served tirelessly to continue educating our children despite the situation. The DepEd TV project has really brought countless stories of resiliency and creativity of our personnel and we want to recognize them for their service,” Education Secretary Leonor Briones said.

The awarding will be held on the first founding anniversary of the initiative on August 20.

The DepEd TV Awards are divided into four sections — the Outstanding Teacher-Broadcaster Awards (Level-Based and Subject-Based), the Broadcast Production Awards, the DepEd Core Values Awards, and the Special Awards.

The DepEd TV Awards will also give out 50 different accolades for kinder, elementary, and secondary TV lessons aired from August 2020 to July 2021.

“We are encouraging all teacher-broadcasters, production teams, school heads, schools division superintendents, regional directors, and their respective local government units to participate and submit entries for the different categories of awards,” Undersecretary for Administration Alain Pascua said.

Pascua added that the DepED TV Awards will be held annually to motivate teachers.

The deadline for submission of nominations is on July 24, 2021.
