CAELUM HARRIS ELIGIBLE TO PLAY AS LOCAL FOR BATANG GILAS AFTER SECURING PH PASSPORT

A bright future for Philippine basketball as 6-foot-6 Caelum Harris obtained his physical Philippine passport, Sunday evening (Manila time) being now eligible to play as a local for the national team.

After celebrating its 16th birthday last February 23, the top Gilas prospect received another good news of securing its Philippine passport which East West Private posted the development on its Instagram page.

“Thank you to the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas and all the support through this process! We appreciate our partnership with you,” read the post.

“One last shout out to our partner Hoop Junkie we always appreciate you and your eyes,” it added.

With this, the Fil-Am swingman now welcomed to a team that also has Kai Sotto, Cholo Anonuevo, Sage Tolentino, and Luke Tobias.

In addition, Harris is looking forward to wearing the Philippine jersey one day. 

“Looking forward to playing for the Philippine National Team when the time is right,” he said.

Harris vowed to compete with Gilas Pilipinas one day but for now the power forward will take his sophomore year for Stewarts Creek High School in Smyrna, Tennessee.

Harris is currently ranked no. 29 for the class of 2024.
