DEPED PROMOTES SCIENCE FILM FESTIVAL
THE DEPARTMENT of Education, in partnership with Goethe-Institut Philippinen, will hold a virtual Science Film Festival from November 3 to December 3 to promote learners’ science literacy and awareness.
With the theme “Equal Opportunities in Science”, the 13th edition of the festival aims to emphasize the commitment to raise awareness on the issue of diversity and inclusiveness in STEM from underrepresented groups.
The 45 Science Edutainment films aim to
maximize innovation and creativity in science and promote equal opportunity.
During the festival period, students from public and private secondary schools, specifically Regional Science High Schools, Legislated Science High Schools, Science, Technology, and Engineering-implementing schools, and Special Science Elementary Schools are invited to watch the films by registering online through bit.ly/SffPh22Reg or the Goethe Institut Philippinen website.
All films are divided into different age groups and translated and subtitled into local languages.
Meanwhile, learners are encouraged to vote for their favorite film to get a chance to win a gadget. Learners may refer to the Science Film Festival Philippines website and Facebook page for the mechanics on joining.
